What Our Guests Are Saying
The sushi is flavored well, fresh… favorite pieces: ootoro, wagyu, eel. A fun experience—definitely get your money’s worth.

Fun as a novelty… the omakase was surprisingly good (very fast paced), AYCE less impressive. Otoro/wagyu slice was thin and rice-heavy… lean tuna was the hit.

Souraji offers an omakase experience unlike any other. The quality of the fish, especially the uni, was simply exceptional, and the unlimited sake made it an unforgettable evening. Highly recommend for any sushi enthusiast!

From the moment we walked in, the staff at Souraji provided impeccable service. Chef Allen’s creations were phenomenal, and the all-you-can-eat Wagyu rounds were a true highlight. It’s truly incredible value for such a premium experience.

A must-visit in NYC! Souraji’s atmosphere is vibrant, and the omakase is a culinary journey. The freshness and variety of the sushi, coupled with the generous drink offerings, exceeded all expectations. We’ll definitely be back!

Service was great, chef handing out the pieces was really cool, and the hosts were attentive when it came to refilling your unlimited sake.

How we got started and our goal
SourAji was founded by Xu Lu and Jake Weng with one wild idea: make omakase as thrilling as karaoke night. Our name reflects our philosophy: balancing the traditional “sour” elements of authentic Japanese cuisine with the innovative “aji” (flavor) that comes from fearless creativity. This fusion creates an experience that’s both deeply rooted in tradition and boldly forward-thinking.
Within months of opening, its provocative, no-rules format earned widespread attention: diners attempted Sushi‑zilla quantities (up to 122 pieces in one sitting!), and SourAji expanded to a second location in Chelsea due to high demand.
